Ingredients
- Honey Clove Simple Syrup -
- ½ cup (120ml) honey
- ½ cup (120ml) water
- 1 teaspoon whole cloves, toasted
- Blood Orange Cocktail -
- 1 (155g) blood orange, halved, sliced into 1/2" pieces
- 3 .oz (90ml) gin
- 2 cups (260g) ice cubes
- 2 .oz (60ml) prosecco or other sparkling wine
Method
For the Simple Syrup: Place the honey, water, and toasted cloves into a small sauce pan and simmer for 5 minutes. Chill completely. Save 45ml of syrup for the cocktail and store the rest in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
For the Cocktail: Place blood orange slices, gin, simple syrup, and ice into the Aer® Disc Container and secure the lid.
Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 30-40 seconds. Strain into two chilled 200ml cocktail glasses. Garnish with fresh blood orange.
Vitamix Tips
- For the honey clove simple syrup: keep the cloves in the syrup as it's stored to keep infusing, or strain to remove cloves before storing, if syrup is flavourful enough.
