Blueberry Oatmeal Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (480 ml) oat milk [or soy milk]
  • 1 cup (240 ml) Greek yogurt 0% plain [or plain non-dairy yogurt]
  • ½ cup (50 g) rolled oats
  • 2 Tablespoons (24 g) hulled hemp seeds
  • 2 cups (280 g) frozen blueberries
  • 2 cups (280 g) sliced frozen banana
  • 1 Tablespoon honey [or maple syrup], optional
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon, optional

Method

Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid. 
Run the Smoothie Program or start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to
its highest speed. Blend for 40-50 seconds, using the tamper to push ingredients toward the
blades. 

Vitamix Tips

  • Adjust sweetness and flavor with honey and cinnamon. Adding 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract or using vanilla flavored milk/yogurt also works beautifully in this recipe. Garnish with a pinch of cinnamon and a few fresh blueberries, if desired. This smoothie provides a balanced blend of protein, fibre, and an oxidants. The Greek yogurt contributes highquality protein and calcium, supporting satiety and bone health. Rolled oats and hemp seeds add heart healthy fibres and essential fatty acids that promote digestive and cardiovascular wellness.
